Lorna started her training in 2001, carrying out a year long apprenticeship with a bespoke cabinet making company, followed by a year at Chelsea College of Art and then leaving Kingston University in 2005 with a first class BA Hons degree in Product & furniture design. Her love for creative experimentation combined with working in the depths of a dark office staring at a computer screen, led to the creation of Lorna B Hughes Designs.
Designs have been commissioned by Bloomberg Financial Offices, London & then displayed at the UNDU exhibition Brick Lane, East London.

Lorna exhibited at New Designers famed “One Year On” Design Show between 5th and the 9th of July 2006, The Business Design Centre Islington, London.
Stool Pigeon (concept design) Created originally for the Bloomberg
Financial offices, London. They are designed as an occasional fun seat
that encourages an alert straddle seating position, promoting balance
and movement.
Robin A bright original bird-feeder that plays on the contrasts
of graphical- geometric shapes within a natural environment.
Materials->Hardwearing solid Oak timber coloured and protected with
a highly effective all-natural stain and completed with stainless steel
fixtures.
